In September 2022 the Child Safeguarding Practice Review Panel published a report which requested that “all safeguarding partners review their current policies on bruising in non-mobile infants to check for consistency with the evidence base and national guidelines.” This webinar reviews the evidence base and presents the experience of families affected by this guidance. It presents research by Professor Bilson and Dr Talia that shows how and why current guidance and practice needs to change.

    Who should participate?

The webinar is aimed at practitioners, managers and policy makers in social care, health, and police. It may also benefit legal professionals and others interested in the effective operation of the child protection system.
